Due to my hosting company upgrading hosting environment (PHP5.2 to PHP5.3), I need to upgrade/migrate my site from Joomla 1.0 to Joomla 1.5. (Joomla is a Content Management System I use to build this site.) This last week I have been working on it and I am glad it is finished now. Basically you won't notice much difference, except a couple of minor ones. But here are a few things I'd like to point out:
- I have re-activated user registration (I have installed a good anti-spam plugin, hopefully will stop most of spammers).
- Existing members can log in, post at the forum etc...but any previous private messages are lost (because the old PM system no longer supported by Joomla 1.5. I have installed a new Private Message system so members can still PM each other, it's just any old PMs are no longer there.)
- Newsletter - the previous newsletter system I used again no longer supported in Joomla 1.5. I have not installed a new one yet, but I will do so and try my best to transfer existing newsletter subscribers information.
