MyPoints

This post is my updated MyPoints review. I am a long time member of MyPoints – one of the best reward sites that pays cash & gift cards for taking online surveys and more!

MyPoints - Rewards for SurveysMyPoints is one of the oldest reward sites. At Mypoints, members earn rewards by doing various online activities, – they get paid to take surveys, read emails, shop online, print coupons, search and watch videos etc.

Is MyPoints Legit or Scam?

Operated by Prodege, LLC (the same company behind Swagbucks), MyPoints definitely is legitimate. Personally I have been paid a few times. Recently I just redeemed again for cash through Paypal. I will provide payment proof once I receive payment.

How MyPoints Works

At MyPoints, members earn points by doing various things online,  and they can redeem points for great rewards such as gift cards or cash. Following are some of the popular ways to earn points:

Take Surveys – answer market research online surveys and earn points based on the length of the survey.

Read Emails – They send members Bonus Mails that offer deals,   some have 5 points just for clicking and visiting the merchants.

Watch Videos – Watch complete playlists to earn up to 500 points per day while being entertained.

Print & Redeem Coupon – earn 1 points per coupon printed, and 25 points for each coupon you redeemed at your local stores.

Play Games – earn up to 8 points per dollar playing popular games like Bejeweled 2 and Solitaire Rush.

Search the Web – Get Yahoo! search result and the chance to win up to 170 points randomly.

Buy gift cards – at mygiftcardsplus.com and earn points for every e-gift card you buy.

My MyPoints Review

I am a long time member of MyPoints. Over the years I have earned enough points to redeem rewards a few times.  I have been earning points mostly from taking online surveys and reading the paid BonusMails.

MyPoints BonusMail

MyPoints sends members BonusMails daily – I receive average 4 BonusMails per day. BonusMails offer deals to shop and sign up at various retailers or advertisers.  Examples:  get 100 points if you sign up for certain newsletter of a name brand. Or earn x points per dollar you spend at y store etc. Among 10% of those mails (used to nearly 100%), you can earn 5 points just for  clicking the “Get Points” button within the email and visiting the destination websites. This was my main way to earn points at MyPoints before, although I did occasionally answer their surveys.

MyPoints Surveys

In the recent years I have noticed that MyPoints is offering members more surveys with better reward points. Surveys I have seen ranging from 5 minutes to 50 minutes, providing up to 680 points. I personally have enjoyed taking their surveys. I qualify for 1/10 of the surveys I tried. You still earn 1-5 points if you try but disqualify for the “featured surveys” (the ones have the start next to the survey numbers). You can also earn 5 points for every 10 questions for “Your Survey Profile” under the survey zone. MyPoints offers bonus points for surveys from time to time.

MyPoints Rewards Payment

I had redeemed multiple Wal-Mart gift cards in the early days, and I had always received the gift cards in the mail quickly.

Recently I redeemed points twice. The first time I redeemed 1590 points for $10 Paypal – which I requested the reward on a Saturday, and received the payment the next Monday. The second time I redeemed 2370 points for $15 Amazon gift card, I received the gift card code instantly after submitting the request!

In Conclusion

MyPoints is a reputable reward site. Among their many ways to earn points, answering surveys is my favorite, therefore I consider MyPoints a decent online survey site. Plus great cash and gift card rewards with low redeem threshold, I think MyPoints is a great site to earn rewards and yes, I think you give it a try!

  6. Just a heads up, mypoints has been cancelling a lot of accounts without warning. They recently cancelled mine with no warning and no explanation. I emailed them 3 times and they will only reply with a form email. I had close to 3000 points and they are GONE! After it happened, I googled closed mypoints account and found that it is happening to a lot of people. It seems like they are claiming people have violated terms of service but conveniently refusing to say what they have done. It also seems like 3000 points is the “magic number” for getting your account cancelled. Some complaints I found suggested that the bad economy may have hurt them and they need to re-coup some $$$! Beware Mypoints!

  8. :-?: What is a paid e-mail? I’ve been reading all of your information and am seriously considering doing the surveys.

Do you need to report any money you get from surveys — do you get a 1099 from those that pay by check or PayPal?

I also work full time and would only be able to do this in the evenings? Will I be missing out if I don’t respond quick enough?

I want to let you know that you have answered just about ALL of my questions on your website.
