Your 2Cents Review

This post is my Your 2Cents review. Please note: Your2Cents panel is closed. It was bought by Toluna in 2009.

Your 2Cents is a online consumer paid survey panel that reward members for their opinion by answering market research surveys.

Survey Compensation

  • Every panelist who qualified for and completes an online survey is an instant winner of at least $1, up to $5.
  • Every panelist who qualifies for and completes a mobile survey earns at least $3, up to $5. Some surveys offer higher instant winner cash rewards!
  • When a panelist attempts to take a survey, but does not qualify for the study, he or she is still rewarded with an entry to our $5000 cash giveaway.

Instant Winner amounts and bonus rewards are awarded in point values where 3,000 points = $1. Points automatically convert to cash values whenever you request a check. You can request a check when you have reached a minimum account balance of $10, or 30,000 points.

My Your 2Cents Review and Experience
I have been a member of Your 2 Cents for over two years. At first, I didn’t receive too many surveys. However, starting last year (2006), I have received about 2-3 surveys per month consistently, and some are product testing surveys. Most surveys pay $1 – $3, and product testing surveys pay between $5 – $10.

For every survey I qualify and complete, I receive cash reward. I qualify about half of their surveys, and cash out reward regularly.

Your2cents website also have greatly improved since 2006, where you can see your survey history and payment history. Payments (checks) usually arrive 2 – 3 months after payout request, which is pretty slow. Once I had to contact them asking about a payment for a product testing I did. They responded pretty quickly, and eventually sent me the check soon after.

Overall, Your 2 Cents is a good paid survey site, I recommend it.

UPDATE
Your 2 Cents survey panel has been closed.

  1. I waited months to receive my check, when I finally got it and cashed the check, a week later I get a notice from my bank that their check did not go through and they had put a stop payment request on the check, of which I was charged a fee by my bank for their bad check. Avoid this company; they are a scam!

  2. I have waited for my check from Toluna for over 12 weeks now, still have not seen a check, they take weeks to even respond to your emails, and when they do, they just give you the run around and tell you that you must wait 8 weeks for your check. Well, it is well over 8 weeks. This is not the only issue with them, half of the surveys and focus groups I have done with them, I have not even been credited for. STAY AWAY from this company.

  3. Toluna is completely overwhelmed by the massive amount of people that sign up there. I have waited weeks for an email response and what others say it true, they don’t respond to emails.

Also, it is completely common place for points to literally disappear. There are much better survey sites (albeit only a handful left). There’s no point in wasting time with a company like this.

i will stay with toluna for long time and hope they do not go out of business

  5. I kept a record of the surveys I took and waited the allotted time – never received the points and after multiple emails asking for them to recitify the situation (with no response) I gave up. What makes it even worse is that you cannot go back further than 60 days on your account to see what surveys you did take and what the points you received are for. I

  6. Member of CashCrate under the Toluna umbrella for about a week. Received $2. Must cash out at $20. All they do is refer you to other marketing sites, so I might as well sign up with them if I want to get paid. In the process of trying to delete my account now but they refuse, stating my password is incorrect yet I just used it to log in with no hassle… Hmm. I’m spreading the word: Don’t waste your time with these guys!!

  7. ๐Ÿ™ Why I have nearly a week never receive survey , every landing site is shown”We currently have no surveys available for you. Please take a few minutes to update your profiles and check back later for more survey opportunities.” The most abhorrent is a false pay ! In my data display that have been paid, but not already pay pay order number, and didn’t receive payment in my paypal ! ๐Ÿ™

  8. Hi Marixa,
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with “Give Us Your Two Cents” which as Mei stated is sweeps only. I think this is why “Your Two Cents” changed to Toluna in the first place. Many people incl. me have experienced what you did: Completing an entire survey, being asked about demographics and being told you don’t qualify. OTX is one that has done this too. FYI, there are really good Hispanic only panels listed on this site. I’m lucky enough to have some latin lineage too so I’m on 4 or 5 Hispanic panels.

  9. Hi Marixa – Your 2 Cents is closed, bought by Toluna last year. What you are talking abou tis “Give us your 2 cents” which DIFFERENT.

Also, just let you know, “Give Us Your 2 Cents” is one of those “DAILY Surveys” where you should take at one of those incentive sites so you get paid for taking their surveys otherwise you will just get a sweepstake entry.

  10. Hello,

I am a complete newbie to taking surveys online. Recently I read a post where someone complained about a different survey company. Personally, I did not pay too much mind as I completely understand that survey companies are not intentionally holding anything against a person, it is just that the number of responses capped either the region and or ethinicity quotas for that particular survey. Ok so no problem.

But today, I am completely appalled at what just occurred by a survey participation with Give us your 2cents. I am Puerto Rican born and raised in Chicago Illinois, whereas never in my wildest dreams ever felt like anyone has ever discriminated against me ever in my over 40 years alive. However, I just “completed” a survey regarding a topic true and dear to me, which lasted about 35 minutes. I received the message Thank you for your participation and valued time, now we have a few more questions for classification purposes. I immediately received the question as to what is my zip code, so I entered it, then it asked me which do you consider yourself to be, so naturally I would honestly say I am Hispanic. Immediately following after I get completely closed out of the survey with an immediate message that said we are sorry but you do not qualify for this particular survey. Excuse me, the entire survey was completed and I received the Thank after it was done!!

Am I to assume that the survey panel did not realized in the beginning when I filled in my information that I was Hispanic. It is not in my nature to ever proclaim to be discriminated ever in my lifetime. As I had stated I was born and raised in the US, which although Hispanic, my ethnicity is automatically citizens whether born in US or Puerto Rico. Why would I assume I was not credited for the entire survey if that last classification question did not immediately boot me out, asking if I wanted to take another survey.

NO, I do not want to give you credit and get paid for my intellectual opinions while I have to sit here and wonder if you didn’t like my ethnicity. Unbelievable the .50cents that the survey was offering is ridiculous.

I am a person who has no problem voicing her appropriate opinions when I like or dislike something and I wish nothing but success to a company who manipulates and acts deceitful to a person as they will get paid for my responses and I get left with never ever to return with a sour opinion of their company.

My suggestion when you see them on your computer screen run, look the other way and x them out the way they did me, as an excuse not to pay for my opinion.

Toluna is such a Rip Off.
You sit there and complete surveys for them.
I mean you get all the way to the end of
a survey for which you sat there and spent 30 minutes of your time and they
either give you a screen that says
the Quota has been filled , or you don’t qualify.
Anything they can do, to NOT pay you
    for your VALUABLE time.

If you write Toluna Customer Support, your letters go out into the ether net somewhere, b/c you won’t get a response.

I can’t believe this company is still in business .
I cannot believe the Better Business Bureau has not pressed charges against Toluna for
    fraudulent business practices!

Please save yourself your precious time
    and skip this Survey Company!

I’m not worried yet because I’ve waited over 3 months before. In terms of the question about Toluna being a going concern, I think it will continue to be because Greenfield will be consolidated with them in January or February. Greenfield sent out an email a few weeks ago about this.
Yeah, that’s the number I called. But the funny thing is the same day I called I ended up receiving my January check two weeks early. So since I received two checks in September for the same payment, I’m going to let my December check go since I received the January check early. So, so far I have received every check since I joined with them. A bit confusing sometimes, but they have arrived. Although I did like it better when they were Your2Cents… it seems like they cared about their members more.

  14. Does anyone know what happened to Toluna’s 800 number? I just tried calling them to ask about my December check (never received it) and the line says it’s been disconnected. I did end up receiving my September check, I even got two for complaining twice to them. Also received an October, and November check just no December. I have a feeling Toluna decided to close shop since they’re number is disconnected… oh well, I guess it’s off to other paying survey sites…

I’ve received paper surveys in the mail with cash enclosed from Home Testing Institute but not Toluna. I usually fill them out and mail them back. I’ve rec’d 1 or 2 that enclosed $1 for something that would take over 30 minutes. I didn’t bother doing it.

  17. I signed up and can’t receive the confirmation email. Since I don’t have a spam folder to look in, I was going to add their email to my address book so I could recieve it, but I can’t find an email address anywhere on that website. So I can’t finish signing up. GRRRR

  18. Your 2 Cents was decent, Toluna is less decent. A conduit for OTX & Greenfield. Be prepared to complete a 45 minute survey for a minuscule $1 & then receive the message technical difficulties which happens very often, be prepared to complete a survey, receive zero reward, email customer service & receive a a generic response. I unsubscribed from Greenfield because of this & Greenfield has followed me here. Cashout has been raised from $10 to $20 & any points earned are frustrating. If I ever reach cashout because I have points invested I will unsubscribe unless they upgrade their operation. I do not wish to unsubscribe & give them the benefit of my unpaid points but they are not a professional responsible survey company.

I called their 800 number twice (found on their FAQ page) and asked about my check, and both times they said it was mailed on the 21st of September. I already told them I waited 8 weeks for it, and would I have to wait another 8 weeks. I’m giving them until the end of the month, and if I don’t receive it, I’ll probably just cancel the membership and stick with programs that do work. Do you still work on surveys or just decided to keep the membership?

  21. Toluna is a waste of time. When they were Your2Cents.com, I received my first two vouchers on time. SInce the take over, I haven’t received my third check yet. Why do legitimate websites let themselves be taken over by scammers??

  23. This was not bad when it was 2cents but now that Toluna has taken over, it’s probably the worst one I deal with. If I EVER get to cash out, I’m going to quit them. I almost never get accepted for a survey and if I do, they never deposit the amount that they originally promised in the email. Rip off!

  24. I thinks this survey site is one of the best, I qualify for a couple surveys each week and so far I have $17 on my account (I’ll wait until I reach 20).

The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes I have to answer for several minutes only to find out that I don’t qualify.

  25. Your 2 Cents is definitely not a scam. They do have some issues when it comes to cashing out. When you request payment, they only issue in increments of $10. It takes a long time to go from a check status of “pending” to “sent”. It can take 2-3 months but I received 3 $10 checks over the past 2 weeks. All were requested in January. I should be getting a 3rd any day and I have 2 pending. Regarding qualifying, there are days I’ll get 3 emails and get nothing and other days I’ll qualify for every one so it just depends.

  27. Hi Judy – just make sure do NOT delete emails in the spam/junk folder IMMEDIATELY.. and check the folder from time to time (I checked it every day or every other day)….I do notice that sometimes survey emails went to the spam folder.

  28. Hi Don,

Please understand this is normal – a survey site has to determine if you qualify for the survey or not. So getting a survey invite doesn’t mean you will always be able to take the survey. It is not a scam. Your2cents is a legitimate survey site, I have been paid by them several times.. Please be patient with surveys, otherwise you won’t think it’s a fit for you.

  29. Don’t waste your time here either. My experience has been that at the end of the survey, all of a sudden, you aren’t qualified. What a scam. This is the third on line survey site I went to based on mysurvey123.com and now I’m having serious concerns over the usefullness of this website.
