My Experience
SurveySavvy is a very reputable market research paid survey company, and also is the very first online paid survey site I joined, so I have been a SurveySavvy member for about 5 years now. They send surveys regularly. At the beginning, most of the surveys I received are IT related. but starting about two years ago (2007)  I also get more general surveys in a variety of topics as well. IT related surveys seem have higher payout, but general surveys usually pay quite well too. I also have done high paying phone interview and focus groups for Survey Savvy. I receive about 2-3 surveys every month, and qualify about half of them. I have made close to $400 dollar since joining SurveySavvy panel.

SurveySavvy pay cash via check, you need to request payment yourself, and there is no minimum requirement to request payout and I suggest you cash out as soon/often as possible (according to SurveySavvy’s Terms and Conditions, you might get charged “Service Charge” if you are inactive for 12 months) I generally receive my survey payment check in about 5 – 8 weeks afer requesting payment.

It is my experience/observation over the years that Surveysavvy offers panel members decent and better cash compensation per survey compare to other survey panels including those “top” survey panels on my list.  Following is a check (image, click to enlarge) I recently received from SurveySavvy.

SurveySavvy Payment Check

SurveySavvy has a good two-tier referral program. You get incentives when the friends and family you have referred complete surveys, and you also get incentives when referrals of the friends and family you have referred complete surveys.

SurveySavvy also has good panel support – I have emailed their support a couple of times, and received response within 2 – 3 business days.

Conclusion

SurveySavvy is a reputable and great market research survey company and I highly recommend them!

Special Note/Update:

Recently I had an opportunity to have a conversation with Oliver James, the Community Manager at SurveySavvy.com (facebook.com/surveysavvy), and I asked him if he could give us some advice and tips on how to maximize the earning potential at Surveysavvy.com as a panel member, and I am very pleased that he agreed to do so by writing a guest article (see below). I find his insights and tips are very helpful especially on how to get referrals. What do you think? Please feel free to let me know your thoughts.

How to Get the Most of the SurveySavvy.com Panel MembershipBy Oliver James

First of all I want to thank Mei for allowing me to educate you all on how to actually make some REAL MONEY taking paid surveys on SurveySavvy.com. There is a lot of room and opportunity to make some extra income taking surveys with SurveySavvy.com. The key is to work our system the right way. So I’m going to walk you through signing up for SurveySavy.com all the way through the secrets and tips that help our top earners earn well into the thousands every year!

Let me start off by explaining the process of surveys and how they work in general. 99.9% of surveys are used to help business owners and marketing companies make smarter business decisions on everything from product design to advertising. And because the decisions they make are based on the answers given in our surveys it is crucial that you as a survey taker give accurate and consistent responses. These responses start at the sign up processes and continue all the way through your most recent survey.

Most of you have probably already signed up for SurveySavvy.com. Whether you have already or not this walkthrough of the sign up process will help you get more paid surveys. First go to SurveySavvy.com, read the terms and conditions and then start entering in your information. I can’t stress enough how important it is for you to be honest and current with the information you provide during the initial sign up process. Since surveys are all about the data you provide to us we spend a huge amount of resources making sure that the data you provide is accurate. So we will know if you exaggerate or embellish even a little. It also only hurts you to put in fake information. If you make $25,000 a year and tell us you make $1 million we won’t know to send you the surveys for people who make $25,000. It’s even worse when you are honest in the initial sign up process but then exaggerate during an actual survey. So make sure you keep your answers consistent.

Another key factor that gets overlooked way to often by our members is there “Portraits”. At SurveySavvy.com we use “Portraits” to determine who gets our best and Highest Paying Surveys first. So if you haven’t filled our your “Portraits” let me show you how. First sign in to SurveySavvy.com. Then click on “My Portrait” in the main menu above the word Welcome. You’ll now have list of about 10 portraits you can fill out. The first 2 are about employment and health and are by far the most important to fill out. They only take about 10mins. If you don’t have at least the first 2 portraits filled out you are doing yourself a disservice as a SurveySavvy.com panel member. So go fill at least the first 2 out. I’ll wait here.

All right now that you’ve hopefully filled out all your portraits. Let’s give you something else to do that can make the difference between a check for $2 and a check for $200. I’m talking about Referrals. Referrals are how the SurveySavvy panel members that make the most money make their money. At SurveySavvy.com we not only pay you for your referrals but also your referrals referrals. Every SurveySavvy.com panel member has a unique referral ID that allows us to track your referrals and automatically credit your account for the surveys they complete. You can find your referral link and ID by signing in to SurveySavvy.com. Once you’re signed in click on “My Referrals” in the main menu next to “My Portrait”. Near the bottom of the page will be a link that looks like this “https://www.surveysavvy.com?id=4877498&action=join “without the quotes. This is your referral link with your unique ID already set up for you. Essentially you just have to share this link with as many people as you possibly can. I know that can seem easier said than done. But it’s really quite easy to get enough exposure for that link to start bringing in some real money.

Here’s how our most successful members get their referral inks out.

• Start a blog.
You can set up a free blog at wordpress.com or blogger.com. There are literally hundreds of free blog sites but these 2 are by far the best. With a blog you have to keep it updated. So be ready to post at least once – twice a week.

• Social Media
Post about your blog or even just post your referral link. Our top members post their links daily. How many times do you post your link? Facebook and twitter are the top 2 social sites but don’t forget about linkedin, myspace, digg and the others.

Join groups and communities in these social media networks and share your referral link with them. The more related the group is to making money online or through surveys the better response you’ll get. Just don’t get spammy. Build a relationship first.

• Email
We all have contacts in our outlook or gmail that are just waiting for an opportunity to make some extra money. Don’t keep them waiting.

Start a monthly or weekly newsletter. You don’t just have to send people your SurveySavvy referral link every week that would get old. Maybe throw in some family recipes to make it more personable.

• Forums
There are millions of forums online that will let you have a homepage link in your profile section. Sign up for as many as you can and use your referral ink as your homepage link.

Don’t stop at your profile. Make sure to pick forums on subjects that interest you and comment in them often. (Make sure you set up your signature so that when you comment your SurveySavvy referral link is automatically added to the end of your comment.)

Well there you have it folks. How to use SurveySavvy.com like the pros do. Now go get that money people there is plenty for everyone.

The surveys, when they do come are great and quick, but the referral program helps a lot and it is mutually beneficial.

  6. mlynn.admin says:

My last payment check from SurveySavvy also took 3 months. Glad to know I am not the only one, lol.

  7. Porter18 says:

I agree with a few other people here in that surveysavvy is an okay survey site, but is poorly operated.
I get maybe a couple surveys a week but only qualify for maybe 3 a month.
Cashed out at $10 and waited 12 weeks for a check. contacted them and got a response a couple days later saying a check would be sent out.
One week after I contacted them I got a hand addressed envelope in the mail with an apology for the delay in payments this year.
I just cashed out another $12 check this time we will see what happens.

  8. samantha says:

so.. when are u supposed to get the surveys? i havent recieved any… seems like a waste of time… try inboxdollars.com u get paid to read emails

  9. Mehmet S. says:

You get surveys rarely and the rewards are credited onto your account in 6 weeks, then you have to wait for another 10 weeks after you request a cashout. I’ve been waiting for a $6 check for 15 weeks now. When you contact them all you hear is nonsense excuses, they think that the people are fool. It is not a money problem, it is a matter of honesty and principles. NEVER GET INVOLVED with those SCAMMERS!!!

  10. Kathy says:

While I think it is a legitimate survey site, I think it is poorly run. You really cannot track what surveys they credit you for because it just the number of surveys and a dollar amount. Such as you completed 10 surveys for $8.00. There is no way to track it back to any log you may keep of surveys completed. They also seem to take forever to credit you for a survey. The one good/bad thing is I don’t qualify for many surveys but they disqualify you fairly quickly so you don’t waste a lot of time.

  11. Golgotha says:

Update – I still receive 1-3 surveys a month and qualify for 1 survey every other month. Still no phone interviews and product tests. I still don’t do the referral program. I have made less than $27 in 2 years. I haven’t had any problems with them. I just cashed out and then I will close my account, not worth my time.

  12. Golgotha says:

I receive 1-3 surveys a month. I qualify for 1-3 surveys every other month. I havent done any phone interviews or product tests. I dont do their referral program. I have made less than $20 in 1 year. I cashed out and received the check within 3 weeks. I havent had any problems with them.

  13. mlynn.admin says:

AO, when did you take the surveys? You might need to give them a little more time to credit your surveys. If you don’t see credits 4 weeks after you took the surveys, contact their support.
Make sure always save survey email invites from any survey companies if you qualify and complete the surveys.
If you want to get paid, you need to request a payment at the member page. SurveySavvy do NOT send out payment automatically.
Surveysavvy is a good paid survey site. Good luck!

  14. aosk260755 says:

I just singed up recently, but i have already done 2 surveys and sent out 11 referrals, but when i nothing was in my account = 0

  15. Lee says:

I’ve been a member of SS for 3 months and have made $2. I keep updating my profile regularly but I just don’t get many surveys. One good thing, as earlier post mentioned, is the no minimum payout. I’ve received 2 checks for $1. I’m still hopeful because I’ve heard good things.

  16. mlynn.admin says:

    Hi Barbara,

Survey Savvy does not give points/rewards for the “Profile Surveys”, those surveys are designed to get more information from members so they can send more targeted surveys to members. Most survey sites don’t give any rewards for profile surveys as well.

You can read my post at the message board thread called “Paid Survey Tips”, where Tip #4 I discussed about those profile surveys.

If you have successfully qualified and completed a survey, it might take a while to have the credits posted. If you don’t see money in your account after a few weeks, I would suggest you email them, their customer service is pretty good (I have contacted them before.)

I haven’t receiving many surveys as I used to, but maybe because I haven’t fill out their profile surveys yet.. I know those surveys are pretty long.

Anyway, Barbara, Survey Savvy is not a scam, they are a reputable market research company and they will not share your personal information with anyone.

  17. BAH says:

I have spent more time and energy supposedly pre-qualifying to eventually qualify at this site than any other and have accumulated 0. I firmly believe this site just collects info for their own benefit to sell under the guise of potential survey qualification. To date I have taken all their static surveys and three others that were sent to me and have an account balance of 0. Looking at previous posts, it seems the way to ‘make money’ with them is to refer. They are using your personal info in what way?? Actually qualifying for some elusive survey or just mining for data to sell?? Since other sites have actually rewarded points (money) and this one hasn’t, considering all the time I have put into it, I’ll concentrate on the ones that compensate for my time and info.

  18. Dave says:

I received my first survey today. It said it paid $1 for a 10 minute survey. Not much, but I decided to participate anyway. Wow was that the longest 10 minutes that I ever spent. I didn’t time the survey but I would have to say that it took from 20 to 25 minutes of my time. I was not happy with the time vs pay. I hope that I have a better experience with them in the future. I’ll post my later results.

  19. David says:

Can someone give feedback on what the likelihood is of completion of a survey (and therefore getting paid for it) ?!?

I find survey sites that require you complete the survey to get any cash/credit to be the biggest scams because you’ll find it difficult if not impossible to legitimately ‘complete’ a survey according to them

  20. Mei says:

    Hi Jaime,

Yes, SurveySavvy has a great referral program! Also they have more high paying surveys, I received three $25/$35 surveys just this month! Oh one more thing is you can cash out no matter how much you have in your account (even you only have $1.00!), not like some other sites you have to wait to reach minimum!

  21. Jaime says:

aha, now I see why you like it:

“Completing surveys is rewarding, but the most effective way to earn money is through our patented referral system (Patent No. 7194448 & Patent No. 6446044). We pay SurveySavvy.com members an average of $2 for every survey a SurveySavvy.com member’s referral completes and an average of $1 for every survey their referrals’ complete.”
